Vets Saved Pooch Who Swallowed Cocaine

Just like humans, dogs have a curious mind. But more often than not, this thirst for answers would sometimes lead them astray or in a bad situation.

This pit bull named Nipsey is no stranger to this narrative.

The dog caught himself in a difficult situation after he ingested a crack of cocaine.

According to local police officers from Michigan, they were doing a raid on a specific neighboring house where Nipsey lives.

The couple in that house were alleged to be drug traffickers. In the course of the search warrant, the couple got rattled and suddenly threw the crack of cocaine into Nispey's backyard.

That time the dog was playing in the backyard. When Nipsey saw the thing, he got curious about what it was. Just like any other dog, Nipsey sniffed the cocaine, and later on ingested it whole.

This incident sent the police officers afraid of the dog's life. Thankfully, they were quick to react and call for reinforcement. Volunteers from the Michigan Humane Society immediately went to the scene and helped the beleaguered pooch.

According to the volunteers, the consumption of cocaine is dangerous for dogs. Just like chocolates, dogs do not have enzymes to break down the cocaine inside the body. With this, the volunteers forced the dog to take out the cocaine the best way he could.

When they were successful, the volunteers then brought the pooch to the veterinary center. The reason for this is to make sure that the pooch is far from any danger. Nipsey stayed on the veterinary clinic overnight to make sure he is safe.

Nipsey's owners got astounded by this development. At the same time, though, they were thankful that nothing wrong happened to their beloved dog.

According to them, they would be extra careful next time not to let the dog stay alone anywhere in the house.
