Corgi Spends Lockdown Learning How To Play Like A Basketball Pro

Corgi Learns How to Play Basketball in Lockdown

With the extended lockdowns due to COVID-19, everyone has been doing a hobby to pass the time. Some have finally begun their long-overdue house projects, while others are trying to finish every Netflix series. This corgi from Texas, on the other hand, spends her quarantine time in the most adorable and unexpected way possible: learning basketball tricks!

Lilo, the Pembroke Welsh corgi, hailing from Houston in Texas, had a generally active lifestyle back when everything was still normal. She would enjoy most of her days socializing with other canines at her daycare or playing with the friendly kids in their neighborhood.

However, when the quarantine orders were implemented in their area, the five-year-old pooch had no other choice but to take out her energy on at-home exercises. This meant an occasional game of fetch whenever her fur dad, Denny Ku, was on his work breaks.

Of course, this was poles apart from what the active Lilo was used to, so to keep her happy, Denny decided to give her a bunch of balloons to play with. This seemed to appease the energetic corgi, and she appeared to be content with playing with them all day long.

One day, though, Denny noticed Lilo playing with her balloons in such a way that she looked like she was shooting a basketball. Realizing this would be a fun activity for the corgi, the fur dad began teaching Lilo some trick shots. He started by tossing her a basketball and training her to shoot it in the basket in the living room.

Lilo seemed to enjoy it, and it didn’t take long for the pup to began shooting shots like a basketball pro. Denny then moved on to teaching her more complicated shots until the adorable Lilo could easily shoot the ball from their second-floor balcony to the basket on the ground.

The pup had also learned several other tricks like shooting the ball inside Denny’s backpack, into the basket atop their fridge, and into the basket below the staircase. The proud fur dad had also begun documenting and sharing Lilo’s neat tricks.
