A Family Waits Outside A Shelter For 27 Hours To Adopt A Pooch With A Heart-Shaped Patch Of Fur

Wearing your own heart on your sleeve is so yesterday. Why not wear it on your chest? Just take a look at this cute dog with an adorable heart-shaped patch of fur on her chest. Thanks to this very feature, and she got to find her forever home.

An animal rescue home in Oklahoma named Broken Arrow Animal Shelter shared a picture of this unique-looking border collie on Facebook, where it was shared over 27,000 times, according to a report from Fox 23 News. After receiving hundreds of responses about the dog, a family went the extra mile to make sure that this cute pooch will become part of their family.

Camping outside the shelter to up their chances

Commencing at 8:30 in the morning, a family from Tulsa waited for 27 hours before the dog became eligible for adoption. According to the rescue shelter’s website, after arriving, all stray animals had to be kept for at least five days before they were put on adoption.

Additionally, adoptions follow a first-come, first-served basis. This explained why the family was so eager to stay at the shelter’s parking lot as soon as possible.

Because of the heart-shaped patch of fur on her chest the pup now has a family!

The Oklahoma-based shelter shared the exciting news on Facebook the following day. They said that the precious baby girl (the dog) had touched the hearts of people in the US and that she had already found her new forever home. The shelter also thanked everyone who shared their post about the pup.

As for the pooch’s new home, Kyle Johnson spoke with Fox23 News and said that he and his family would name the dog Luna. The dog would also be given to his sister-in-law as a wedding present.

People online reacted to the news. One said "we are glad the dog has a new happy home".

Another added "we wish we could see more happy endings like this."
